the ART DIRECTOR

Alexandra Timița is the founder and creative director of Papira. Drawn to the quiet beauty of her surroundings, both natural and built, her perspective is shaped by a sensitivity to objects meant to be held and kept.

Inspired by European architectural details, mouldings, proportions, and linework, alongside an interest in historical art and the way light is handled across mediums, her approach remains both intentional and understated. Alexandra is guided by a deep appreciation for paper, its tactile quality, and the artistry of fine printing, with each piece considered through material, composition, and finish.

Timeless, romantic period references and an earthy palette run quietly throughout, balanced by a modern artistry that brings clarity, depth, and refinement to each design..

Her work has been featured in Vogue, Martha Stewart Weddings, Style Me Pretty, The Knot, Wedding Sparrow, Magnolia Rouge, and Over the Moon, and more. She has been recognized by The Wed as one of the top 24 wedding stationery designers in the world and is recommended by The Lane.

the Studio

Established in 2016, Papira is a fine art stationery and letterpress studio creating heirloom pieces for weddings and meaningful occasions.

At the core of the studio is a focus on intentional design, each project developed as a considered whole, where every element works in quiet harmony. The work spans invitation suites, day-of details, and personal stationery, all approached with a sensitivity to composition, material, and print.

Design and production are closely intertwined, with each piece shaped through a hands-on approach to letterpress and specialty printing, and a considered selection of papers and materials, often sourced for their character and depth. Seen as the first expression of a celebration, each piece is designed to be held onto and returned to over time..
